Ohio Operations Haverhill North Coke Company, wholly owned by SunCoke Energy, produces 550,000 tons of coke that is sold to Arcelor Mittal Steel USA. The coke is shipped to multiple locations. Steam is provided to an adjacent Sunoco chemicals plant. Operations started in March 2005. A second plant is under construction with long term contracts of sale to multiple customers. Heat recovery will be utilized to produce steam and power, a SunCoke Energy owned steam turbine with direct sales of electricity into the power grid. Illinois Operations In May 2008, SunCoke Energy broke ground on a new plant to provide coke for the United States Steel plant in Granite City, Illinois.
