Excellent tool to search for organizations by industry and location. Database of a million+ organizations; to search for potential employers for post-graduation jobs, internships, co-op, etc.

An intelligent site for busy people who know what they need. Very comprehensive links to business news, business magazines, company research, financial markets, government agencies, chambers of commerce, national statistics and a lot more.

GlassDoor.com
Site launched fall 2008.
Service that lets employees share anonymous reviews, ratings, and salary reports for their companies.
Normally requires all users to post a review or salary of their own before getting access to the reviews or salaries of the community.
However, students can have full access, without having to post; any student or career services professional can simply e-mail students@glassdoor.com from a .edu address and GlassDoor.com will set up a free student account.

The Riley Guide
If you are looking for anything related to career and job search, including something specific or unusual, The Riley Guide probably has it. Very comprehensive site. Author is Margaret F. Dikel (formerly Margaret Riley), a reputable author in the career information and job search field.

Find business phone numbers; search for businesses by category and location.

VT CareerLink
Career Services' searchable database of VT alumni who have volunteered to help students with career exploration and job search. Search for and contact alumni working in the fields that interest you. Get first-hand advice from people who have stood in your shoes as a VT student. It is essential to understand that this is a NETWORKING tool, and you must use the appropriate etiquette for networking when contacting an alumnus or alumna.
