Virginia Tech Post-Graduation Survey closed for those who completed undergraduate degrees in 2007-2008 academic year

Dear 07-08 graduates,

Thank you to the majority of your class! — 3,413 at final count after actual graduates confirmed — who kindly gave your time to respond to the Virginia Tech Post-Graduation Survey.

The purpose of the survey is to learn after-graduation plans of the graduating class and other career-related information.

The university asked all B.A., B.S. & A.S. graduates to respond to this survey.

For each group of grads (December and May+summer), the survey was opened prior to commencement and remained open for six months. There were multiple requests to non-respondents to complete the survey.

After the survey closed for the 2007-2008 cohort, we compiled the data; the 2007-2008 cohort Report is published.

Why we asked:

The information is valuable — to academic departments, to employers who hire Virginia Tech graduates, and to current and future students and their parents. Data from the survey is used by the university to respond to inquiries from U.S. News and World Report.

Why grads should respond:

Because you're a part of the university community.

Because past graduates responded, and that's why we can tell you:
- What graduates of your major are doing after graduation.
- Graduate & professional schools attended by grads of your major.
- Employers, job titles and locations of graduates.
- Salaries.

Some form of this survey has been conducted since the 1970s.
