Agricultural and Extension Education: Description of Major

Agricultural and Extension Education prepares students to teach agriculture in public schools or to work as a 4-H or agriculture natural resources agent in cooperative extension. It's possible to complete the requirements for both options or to double major in another department within in the college. These programs are designed to provide the basic education needed to succeed in positions of leadership in private, public, or industrial settings. A minor in Agricultural and Extension Education also is available for students in Agriculture or Forestry.

Our students have access to bachelors, masters, and doctoral degrees. The Department cooperates with the Career-Technical Education Program in offering these degrees. Students can enroll in both on-campus and distance-delivered courses.
