Virginia Tech co-op salaries

  • Virginia Tech Undergraduate Cooperative Education & Internship Program, first work-term salaries:
    Virginia Tech co-ops' 1st term salaries
  • Students who enroll with the Virginia Tech Undergraduate Cooperative Education & Internship Program are asked to provide salary data for their first work terms.
    • Engineering majors account for 82-88% of enrollees in the co-op program.
    • Business majors account for 7-13% of enrollees.

Virginia Tech bachelor's graduate salaries and bonuses

  • Salaries reported by bachelor's degree graduates:
    Virginia Tech Post-Graduation Report: Bachelor's degree graduates' salaries by university, college and major.
    • Data from our annual survey of Virginia Tech graduates' about their first jobs, employers, salaries, and more.
    • The survey closes six months following commencement, and the report is published the winter following commencement. Data is not released preliminary to the report's publication.
    • University-wide, based on respondents' reports, new graduates' median salary increased 5.1% between 03-04 and 04-05, and increased 9.7% between 04-05 and 05-06. Of course this varies by college and by major, and you can view the salary data (major, college, year) pertinent to your recruiting interests.
    • In cases where insufficient data exists for a major, you may wish to contact the department head for that major to see what information is known to the academic department.
  • Bonuses reported by bachelor's degree graduates:
    Virginia Tech Post-Graduation Report: Bonuses reported, by college and major.
    • Of employed respondents, 29% reported they received a bonus with their employment offer.
    • The median bonus for the 05-06 graduates was $2,500. Of course this varies by college and major.

  • NACE, the National Association of Colleges and Employers, collects salary data on new college graduates. As a NACE member, we receive: NACE Salary Snapshot information.
    This NACE data is shown with permission, and is one of the resources to which we direct students for salary research.
  • As a NACE member we also receive a more detailed print report with salary data breakdowns by curriculum and employer industry. Contact us and we can share information from that report with you.

  • The NACE report contains some salary data on master's and doctoral degree graduates' salaries. Contact us.
  • Academic department heads might have information about their graduates' salary offers.
  • We do not at this time survey graduate students to ask their post-graduation salaries.
