Cancellation & closing policies and notices

When the university is closed, Career Services is closed.

University closings are announced on the university home page: www.vt.edu and campus news.

Snow and/or ice sometimes

cause university closing.

Career Services will close, and events & services sponsored by our office are cancelled, when:
• the university is closed
• the university closes early for the day
• the university has a delayed opening
— for weather-related or any other reason.

On-Campus Interviewing Program:

If university is closed: While our staff would very much like to accomodate On-Campus Interviewing employers who have already travelled to Blacksburg prior to a weather-related closing, for safety reasons for students, for our staff, and for our guests, we are not able to be open during university weather-related closings.

If university has late opening: On-Campus Interviewing will open when the university opens.

Employers or students with scheduled interviews: contact recruiting services in advance if you have questions or anticipate travel problems due to weather.

Connection Co-op|Internship Fair, sponsored by Career Services:

Any announcements related to this annual FEBRUARY event will be noted in the Connection event information online.

Fairs | other events NOT SPONSORED, controlled by Career Services:

Career Services publicizes and endorses many events that we do not directly sponsor and over which we have no control, including many career and job fairs. For possible cancellations or rescheduling, you should place reliance upon the specific event web site (not our event list) and upon the contact person for the specific event.
