When to report to work
Your employer will tell you. For reference, work term begin and end dates are on the calendar of work / school term start and end dates.

Read and respond to your vt e-mail
Read and respond to email sent to you from the Co-op / Internship Program Administrator; our goal is to keep you informed while you are at work.

Forms you must return to Career Services
Within the first four weeks of your work term, return these forms completed with your employer's signature: (return address/fax are on the forms)
Your Work / School Schedule (blank PDF) (if this is your first work term).
Your completed Learning Objectives. You may use the PDF version (print and complete by hand) or MS Word version (complete using MS Word; then print to obtain handwritten signatures).

Course selection / registering for the next semester / terms
Registration for summer and fall terms occurs in March, and registration for spring semester occurs in October. When you are at your co-op / internship work site during registration, do your course selection for the upcoming term(s).
If you will be working during an upcoming term, the Co-op / Internship Program administrator will automatically enroll you for CEP 4084 for the term(s) based on your Work / School Schedule, so it is essential that you follow the schedule.

If you need to change your co-op / internship work / school schedule
See Work / School Schedule > Can I change my Work / School Schedule after I start work?

Evaluation
Employer's evaluation of you:
At the end of your work term ask your supervisor to complete the Employer / Supervisor Evaluation of Student. You may use the PDF version (to print and complete by hand) or the MS Word version (to complete using MS Word; must then be printed to obtain handwritten signatures). Submit the completed form to Career Services within eight weeks of the end of your work term (instructions are on the form). Ideally, your supervisor should discuss the evaluation with you, so you know your employer's opinion of your strengths and needs for improvement. If you work for two terms consecutively for your employer (e.g., spring through summer or summer through fall), your employer may submit one evaluation covering the two work terms.

Your evaluation of the experience:
Complete a Co-op / Internship Program Student Work Term Report form after each of your work terms and submit it to Career Services within eight weeks of the end of your work term (instructions on the form). You may use the PDF version (to print and complete by hand) or the MS Word version (to complete using MS Word; no signatures are required on this form). On this report you evaluate the extent to which each of your learning objectives for the term was accomplished. If you work for two terms consecutively for your employer (e.g., spring through summer or summer through fall), you may submit one work report covering the two work terms.
